The Location
Charm and History on the Garda Peninsula
The Sirmione Boutique Hotel is located in a privileged position, just a five-minute walk from the historic center of Sirmione, “the pearl of Lake Garda,” which extends over the only peninsula of the lake. From here, you can easily reach historical sites, such as the Scaligero Castle and the Grotte di Catullo, as well as unique natural attractions, such as Jamaica Beach.
Caves of Catullus
This archaeological complex, mistakenly thought to be a cave and attributed to the Latin poet who lived in these areas, is actually the most significant testimony of the 1st century BC – 1st century AD in Sirmione and the largest Roman villa in Northern Italy. Its exceptional location, at the tip of the peninsula and surrounded by a historic olive grove, makes it a truly captivating place to visit, along with the adjacent Archaeological Museum.
Scaligero Castle
The Castello Scaligero is an extraordinary example of defensive architecture from the 13th-14th century. Built by the Della Scala family, who ruled Verona and its surrounding territories at the time, it is located at the only southern access point to the historic center of Sirmione, surrounded by the waters of Lake Garda. The three towers and the central keep, which rises to a height of 47 meters, with their characteristic battlements, give the castle and the surrounding dock a distinctive and unmistakable appearance.
Jamaica Beach
Jamaica Beach non è una vera e propria spiaggia, ma una distesa di lastroni di pietra levigati da acqua e vento, perfetti per sdraiarsi e rilassarsi, lambiti dalle acque cristalline del Lago di Garda. Un’autentica oasi naturale di pace e tranquillità, priva di strutture e con poche aree ombreggiate, per un’avventura diversa dal solito.
